22 Foundation Letters
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR SIT AMET CONSECTETUR
"These are the 22 Letters with which God engraved and made Three Sefarim, and with them He created His Universe. And with them He formed all that was ever formed, and all that will ever be formed. Three on Seven; Seven on Twelve; and all are bound together." (Sefer Yetzirah)
In this picture can be seen all 22 Hebrew letters. The 3 Mother Letters are in the triangle/pyramid in the top part; the 7 Double Letters are in the circle/sphere in the middle; and the 12 Simple Letters are in the hexagon/cube in the lower part. The 3 Mothers and the 7 Doubles are associated with the 10 Sefirot. Their placement in this picture is according to that relationship:
The 3 Mother Letters are associated with the 3 seasons (hot, cold and the temperate between them) - in Time; the heavens, the earth, and atmosphere between them - in Space; and the head, the belly and the chest between them - in Souls.
The 7 Double Letters are associated with the 7 days of the week - in Time; the seven planets (and the spacial directions right-left; up-down; front-back; and center) - in Space; and the 7 openings of the senses (2 ears; 2 eyes; 2 nostrils; and mouth) - in Souls.
The 12 Simple Letters are associated with the 12 months of a year - in Time; the 12 constellations of the zodiac - in Space; (and the 12 edges of a cube); and the 12 tribes of Israel - in Souls.
