According to the Kabbalah, before the Universe was created only the Ein Sof existed. The white surrounding the Seed in this picture represents the Ein Sof - the Infinite and Unlimited Light of God. To create the limited realm of Souls in Time an Space, Ein Sof withdrew most of its Light from Creation. The Kabbalists of Tzfat called this process צימצום (tzimtzum) a word that means contraction.
The Ein Sof is still in Creation, however, and is represented in this picture by the innermost, white part of this 'Seed of Creation'. The light-brown area around that represents the level of existence that brings forth the Sefirot of the World of Atzilut (Emanation) - the vessels that contain the Infinite Light. The reddish area around that represents the level of existence that brings forth Souls (and thoughts) - called the World of Beriyah (Creation). The yellowish area around that represents the level of existence that brings forth Angels (and emotions) - the World of Yetzirah (Formation). The blue area around that represents the level of existence that brings forth physical beings (and our actions) - callled the World of Asiyah (Action). The black area around that represents the level of existence that brings forth the Shadow (and our bad inclinations).
The Tzimtzum is an act of Gevurah (Strength associated with the left hand) that withdraws the Infinite Light in order to create a 'place' for finite existence. The five Hebrew letters מ נ צ פ כ that change their form when they appear at the end of a word to ם ן ץ ף ך are called the Five Gevurot.
The entire Creation is said to be the 'Kingdom' of the lowest Sefirah מלכות (Kingship). It makes lower levels of existence possible. The purpose of creating finite existence is so we can become aware of the Infinite Existence that fills and surrounds all Worlds. In this 'Kingdom', God was, is, will be 'King' - in Hebrew מלך מלך ימלך (the words seen in this picture). The word מלך (was King) above the Seed has the same Gematria (number value 90) as the sum of the two letters מ and ן next to it. The word מלך (is King) in the center of the Seed and the צ next to it have the same Gematria - 90. And finally, the word ימלך (will be King) has the same Gematria - 100 - as the sum of the פ and ך next to it.
