The Hebrew letters Mem
and Shin are the two foundations of Sefer
Yetzirah, the ancient classic of the meditative
Kabbalah.
The (blue) Mem represents Water (Mayim
written in blue Hebrew letters on an orange background)
or that which descends.
The (red) Shin represents Fire (Esh
written in red Hebrew letters on an green background)
or that which ascends.
Thus Mem and Shin are polar opposites
- the Hebrew Yin and Yang. The (yellow) Aleph
represents Air (Avir written in yellow
Hebrew letters on an purple background) or Breath,
which balances, unifies and decides between them.
The brown circle represents Earth, and the gold represents
the Divine Ground.
