This picture
is based on the Partzufim (Personifications)
of Atzilut (the world of Emanation) described
by the 16th century Zefat Kabbalist, Rabbi Isaac Luria.
This whole picture is only one figure - white-haired
Grandfather Arikh Anpin (Large Face) who
embraces his entire Family.
A blue square is in the center of his featureless head
that represents expanded consciousness - unconditional
Love.
His beard descends and becomes
Fathers and Mothers (Abba and Imma)
who represent different levels of Wisdom and Understanding.
The three small figures in the head of the black-haired
Son Zer Anpin (Small Face) represent
constricted, conditional consciousness - his Wisdom,
Understanding and Knowledge.
Below him is the red-haired Daughter Nukba,
the 'vessel' who receives and channels all of these
states of consciousness and gives birth to her Baby
- Beriyah (the world of Creation), Yetzirah
(the world of Formation) and Asiyah (the world
of Action).
