The text of Psalm #107 is
written in this limted-edition silkscreen print in
26 circles that form a mandala, a circular design
that is used in Eastern mysticism to calm the mind.
This mandala, based on six circles around a central
circle, is a sacred geometry that is found in many
cultures, and is called the 'Flower of Life'. Psalm
#107 speaks about people who transform themselves
by surviving dangerous situations, and singing songs
of thanks and praise to God.
From Psalm #107:
GIVE THANKS
TO GOD FOR HE IS GOOD, HIS KINDNESS ENDURES FOREVER.
Let those redeemed by God say it...
Those who wandered in the wilderness
in a desolate path, an inhabited city they did not
find. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in
them... They called out to God in their trouble...
And He led them to an inhabited city...
Those who sat in darkeness and in
theshadow of death, bound in affliction and iron.
For they defied the words of GOd, and scorned the
counsel of the Most High... they called out to God
in their trouble... And He broke the gates of bronze
and cut the bars of iron sasunder...
The foolish were afflicted on account
of their sinful ways and iniquities. Their soul
abhorred all food, and they came near the gates
of death... they called out to God in their trouble...
He sent His word and healed them, and they thus
eluded their destruction.
Those who went down to the sea in
ships, and worked in the mighty waters... He spoke
and raised a stormwind and lifted up its waves.
They rise to t he sky and descend to the depths,
their soul melts away in misery... they called out
to God in their trouble... He calmed the storm,
and made the waves still...
