Uncertainty and Freewill:
Your Unique Role in Tikkun Olam - Repairing the World

Lurianic Kabbalah teaches that not only are we meant to bring ourselves to tikkun, or healing, but each individual has a unique and important part to play in how the entire universe comes to tikkun. This course will explore how uncertainty is related to freewill, and whether it is possible for us to know the answers to questions such as “Why is there evil in the world?” and “Why are there righteous people who have such difficult lives?”

This year marks the 301th anniversary of the birth of the great Italian Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (the Ramchal). In honor of this occasion, investigate with David Friedman at the Elat Chayyim Center for Jewish Spirituality / Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center - - Programs
on Jewish Learning, Spirituality & Celebration
, these profound issues through the writings Rabbi Luzzatto and the great 20th Century Kabbalist Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaKohen Kook

What is kosmic kabbalah? The English word cosmic refers to vastness of the cosmos, the physical universe seen as an orderly harmonious Whole. Cosmogeny is the study of the origin and evolution of the physical universe. The root of these words is the Greek word Kosmos. Ken Wilber writes that the Kosmos refers to the patterned Whole of all existence, including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual realms. Likewise, the Hebrew word Kabbalah refers to the ancient mystical teachings that describe these four 'kosmic' realms as an orderly harmonious Whole.

The artwork and teachings presented here deal with kosmic themes that are based on Kabbalah: infinity, kosmogeny (concerning the origin and evolution of the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical realms), Divine names, kabbalistic mandalas and fractal, sefirotic maps of the Kosmos. The dictionary defines cosmopolitan as one who is at home in all parts of the world or in many spheres of interest. If you are kosmopolitan (one who feels at home in all parts of the Kosmos) and are interested in the many spheres of the Kabbalah, you will enjoy visiting this site.
